Architecture Studio Designs World's Longest Building
Posted on March 22 2017
Design studio oiio recently unveiled rendering of what would become the world's longest building. Located on New York's 57th street, 'The Big Bend' skyscraper features a large bend at its highest point, enabling the structure to continue as one and form two separate meeting points with the ground. As a result, the building owners would be able to sell a massive amount of square footage without breaking any zoning laws. "We usually learn about the latest tallest building and we are always impressed by its price per square foot," says oiio. "It seems that a property's height operates as a license for it to be expensive. But what if we substituted height with length? What if our buildings were long instead of tall?"
