NYC Office Tower To Feature Cascading Terraces
Posted on February 08 2016
We're seeing a trend emerge with new buildings in New York City - the presence of gardens/green areas built directly into the project design. The latest example comes courtesy of The Spiral by the Bjarke Ingels Group. The Spiral features open green zones on each of the 65 stories offering incredible views of Midtown Manhattan, Central Park, the Financial District, and the Hudson River. Not only did the architects highlight the idea of green space with the inclusion of the cascading terraces, the actual windows used throughout the building are extremely large, meaning those inside will enjoy very high ceilings and plenty of natural light - two elements proven to improve collaborative workflow. The tower will lie in the Hudson Yards district and take up an entire city block between 34th and 35th street. Check out the awesome renderings below.
